Finished creating your new Minecraft skin in SkinCraft? The next step is adding it to Minecraft: Java Edition.
You can upload your SkinCraft skin through your Minecraft profile in a web browser or through the Minecraft Launcher on your computer. Both methods use the PNG skin file downloaded from SkinCraft.
Quick answer: Download your skin from SkinCraft, open the Skins tab in the Minecraft Launcher, select New Skin, choose your PNG file, and click Save & Use.
Make sure you have:
The Classic model has wider, four-pixel arms. The Slim model has narrower, three-pixel arms. Choosing the wrong model can make the arms or shoulders look incorrect.
This is a handy option when your SkinCraft skin is saved on your phone.
Your new skin will be connected to your Minecraft Java profile. Open Minecraft: Java Edition to see it in the game.
If the skin file is already on your PC, Mac or Linux computer, you can upload it directly through the launcher.
Your new skin will also be saved in the launcher’s skin library, making it easy to switch back to later.
These steps follow Minecraft’s official Java Edition skin instructions.
If you created your skin on a phone but want to use the Minecraft Launcher, move the downloaded PNG to your computer using:
Do not edit, crop or convert the image while transferring it. Minecraft needs the original PNG skin file.
Try these quick fixes if your SkinCraft skin does not appear.
Close Minecraft completely and open it again. If you changed your skin while the game was running, it may not update immediately.
Make sure you uploaded the skin using the same Microsoft account you use in the Minecraft Launcher.
These instructions are specifically for Minecraft: Java Edition on PC, Mac and Linux. Minecraft Bedrock Edition uses a different character and skin system.
Your skin should be the original PNG file exported by SkinCraft. A screenshot, JPG or cropped image will not work correctly.
If the arms look unusual, edit the saved skin and switch between Wide/Classic and Slim.
If the browser upload does not work, transfer the PNG to your computer and upload it through the Minecraft Launcher.
